Who needs a Web site?
Businesses
For businesses, the Web is indispensable. It's like being open for business 24 hours a day, every day. At a minimum, customers can get information about your products, your hours of operation, and directions to your location. You can provide articles or tips on how to use your products. Of course, you can sell your products or services over the Web as well (depending on what it is ).
Organizations
For organizations, the Web is a place to share information about the organization: it's history, current events, and goals. It's a library of forms, historical meeting minutes, presentations, and photographs. It's a tool for keeping members informed and collecting up-to-date information about them. It's a portal for accepting contributions and volunteers. It's a forum for conducting polls and surveys.
Regular Human Beings
For individuals, the Web is your oyster. Share your opinions on politics, books, movies, software, or whatever. Share the pictures or video of your European vacation or new baby with the world or just your friends. Post your poetry, essays, and short stories and invite critique from peers, your audience, and kindred spirits.
